I miss my kink meme too. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Seriously, I think that was the best thing I ever did for the fandom - it was so big and fun and crazy and successful. It just WORKED.
So far all of my feelings about the new one have been irrational and personal so I haven’t actually commented on the actual MECHANICS of it, or the running of it. I mean, I guess that, like…if people are doing something for the fandom, then that is a good thing. But it doesn’t mean that everyone has to like the way they’re going about it, and if they really don’t, then they should totally start fresh. Fandom isn’t about rules and regulations, it should be about fun and doing things that are fun and being inclusive and - yes, okay - acknowledging the people who make an effort.
I am barely chugging along with we_pimpin at the moment, I am not saying that I am doing huge fantastic things for the fandom right now. But no, I don’t love the was the current kink meme is organised and yes, I might be more inclined to participate if it had a different format. I’m not a fan of having to choose from someone else’s list - I want to pick my own prompts, I don’t want to be told what to want.
ANYWAY, as you can see, I have diplomacy coming out of my ears at the moment :D And don’t worry about venting to me, by the way. I totally get where you’re coming from.And also, the fact that people still DO remember the first kink meme and associate it with me is actually really flattering and encouraging and wonderful for me to hear.
